Meet your local host

Croatian immersion creator, based in Prishtinë

“
Croatia first captivated me on a family trip, then it became a place I truly anchored myself to. What I love sharing is that feeling of a country that's both close by, radiant, and full of subtle depth.

— Louis

After numerous family trips, Louis developed a deep attachment to Croatia, eventually choosing to settle in Zagreb and establish an agency dedicated to discovering the country. For him, Croatia is not merely a postcard destination: it is a land of traditions, encounters, contrasts and landscapes that deserve to be explored with care. Louis enjoys building itineraries that allow visitors to grasp the spirit of the country, beyond its most well-known stops. From historic cities to Adriatic islands, from natural parks to inland villages, he seeks to create balanced journeys where culture, local people and the pace of life all have their rightful place. His approach is built on listening, precision and a desire to share a Croatia that is alive, warm and deeply captivating.

Everything you need to know about Croatia

Our local experts share their knowledge to prepare your trip.

When to visit Croatia?

The best time to visit Croatia extends from mid-May to late June, then from early September to mid-October. The Dalmatian coast enjoys Mediterranean warmth without the summer crowds of Dubrovnik or Split, and the Adriatic waters remain swimmable until the first autumn rains. July and August offer magnificent light over the Kornati or Hvar islands, but require advance booking for accommodation and ferry crossings. Inland regions follow a different pattern: Plitvice Lakes are best explored in May, when waterfalls are swollen by snowmelt, and Istria comes into its own in October, at truffle season. Winter is best suited to Zagreb, which is more urbane than one might expect.

What budget to plan for a trip to Croatia?

Croatia is no longer the budget destination it once was a decade ago, especially since the switch to the euro. For a 10 to 12-day circuit in Croatia, in a double room, charming accommodations, car rental and a few experiences guided by English-speaking guides, expect to budget between €1,800 and €2,600 per person, flights not included. The price differences mainly come from the coast: Dubrovnik's old town and Hvar push prices up during high season, while Istria, Slavonia and the Zadar region remain more affordable. On the ground, plan for approximately €25 to €40 for a meal in a good konoba, slightly more for renowned waterfront restaurants.

Why organize your trip with a local agency in Croatia?

Going through a local agency in Croatie changes the very nature of your stay. From our Zagreb office, Louis and his team work daily with independent hoteliers, skippers from Šibenik, winemakers from Istria, and guides from Plitvice who don't appear on standard booking platforms. This proximity allows us to adjust an itinerary on the fly, switch an island night in case of unpredictable weather, or simply slip in an address that only locals know. You book in euros from France with the security of the Nomadays collective, but you travel with an English-speaking team truly embedded on the ground. It's this dual foundation that, in our view, makes the difference.

What to see on a trip through Croatia?

A good itinerary in Croatia is rarely built in a straight line. Many travellers start in Zagreb for its Central European atmosphere, then head south towards the Plitvice Lakes or Krka National Park, before reaching the coast around Zadar or Šibenik. Split then serves as a gateway to the islands: Brač for its white stone, Hvar for its lavender fields, Vis for its rugged character. Further south, Dubrovnik deserves two nights, ideally outside peak season. Conversely, Istria – Rovinj, Motovun, the inland valleys – offers a more Venetian Croatia, almost Tuscan. And for those with time to spare, a detour to neighbouring Bosnia or Montenegro naturally extends the journey.
